Ophthalmology and Cancer Screening Awareness Camp at Concetta Hospital -Immaculate Conception Church Premises, Kinnigoli

A one-day Ophthalmology and Cancer Screening Awareness Camp was conducted on 18 January 2026 at Concetta Hospital, Immaculate Conception Church premises, Kinnigoli. The camp was organized by Concetta Hospital with the support of various women’s associations and community organizations, in collaboration with Jewels Group and Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Kankanady, Mangalore. Dr. Rohan Gatti, Surgical Oncologist, delivered an awareness session on early detection, prevention, and treatment of cancer. The camp involved departments of General Surgery, Surgical Oncology, OBG, ENT, Ophthalmology, and Speech and Hearing. Free services, including Pap smear testing, breast and oral examinations, GRBS testing, blood pressure monitoring, and medicine distribution, were provided. The camp was coordinated by Mrs Deepika N. C, Assistant Professor, and Mrs Caroline Smitha, Assistant Lecturer, Department of Community Health Nursing, FMCON, with the active involvement of IV-year BSc Nursing students. A total of 75 beneficiaries availed of the services. The camp effectively promoted health awareness and the importance of early cancer screening.
