Visit to Milk Dairy 2026

Final year BHMS students of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College visited the Dakshina Kannada Co-Operative Milk Producers’ Union Limited, Kulshekar, on  04 February 2026. The visit was organized as part of Community Medicine training, and the students were accompanied by faculty members Dr. Sajan K. R., Dr. Kashyap Suvarna, and Dr. Shareya N. Padiyar.

During the visit, Mr. Manoj Nelliady, In-charge of the dairy, provided a comprehensive introduction to the functioning of the milk dairy. He explained the various components of milk, the fat percentage in different milk products, and the systematic process involved in milk collection. The students were also briefed on important procedures such as pasteurization, skimming, tinning, and packaging of dairy products.

The visit concluded with an interactive session, during which students clarified their doubts and gained practical insights into dairy operations and quality control measures.
