General Health Checkup and Cancer Screening Awareness Camp at St. Thomas Church, Kollangana, Kasaragod

A one-day General Health Checkup and Cancer Screening Awareness Camp was conducted on 18 January 2026 at St. Thomas Church, Kollangana, Kasaragod, in collaboration with the Indian Cancer Society and Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Kankanady, Mangalore. The camp involved the Departments of General Medicine, General Surgery, Surgical Oncology, OBG, and ENT, offering services such as Pap smear screening, breast and oral examinations, GRBS testing, blood pressure monitoring, and medication distribution.

The programme was coordinated by Mrs Deepika N. C, Associate Professor, Department of Community Health Nursing, FMCON, with active participation of IV-year BSc Nursing students. A total of 84 beneficiaries availed themselves of the services, and the camp effectively promoted health awareness and the importance of early cancer screening.
