STUDENT COUNCIL INAUGURATION 2025-26

The inaugural of the student council of Father Muller Medical College was held with great

enthusiasm and dignity on 16th March 2026 at the Decennial Memorial Hall. The event

marked the formal induction and exchange of the duties of the student council members,

symbolizing the transition of responsibilities and leadership.

 

The program commenced on a solemn note with a prayer song by the students, invoking

blessings of the Almighty .

 

The event began with a formal procession to escort the dignitaries to the Dias, adding

tradition to the occasion. The procession was conducted in an orderly and dignified

manner, with the dignitaries being ceremoniously led into the Decennial Memorial Hall.

The event was presided by Rev.Fr.Faustine Lucas Lobo;Director of FMCI, the Chief Guest,

Dr. Michelle Serene Fernandes ; Professor & HOD, Department of Dermatology FMMC and

the other dignitaries, Rev Fr.Dr.Micheal Santhumayor ; administrator of

FMMC,FMAHS,FMCOP , Dr Antony Sylvan D’Souza ;Dean of FMMC were escorted by the

President Mr Shashank Shrey on to the dias.

 

Then the student council members of 2024-25 made their way to the hall and took their

seats.

 

President , Mr Shashank Shrey warmly welcomed everyone present in the hall and

delivered a speech which was then followed by traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolising

an auspicious beginning.

 

The student council members of 2025-26 were conferred badges for their respective

positions by the Chief Guest, Dr. Michelle Serene Fernandes, signifying trust in leadership

which was then followed by the oath-taking ceremony led by Dr. Antony Sylvan D’Souza

,later preceded by a speech from the newly appointed president Mr.Arjun A Baipadithaya .

 

This moment reflected both gratitude for the efforts of the previous council and hope for

the upcoming team.

 

A significant segment of the program was the address by Rev Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo,

whose speech was both inspiring and insightful. He emphasised the importance of

leadership, responsibility and service to others .His words encouraged the students to

uphold the values of the institution and to lead with compassion and integrity.

 

Another notable event was the release of the college magazine - The POV , which

showcased the creative and intellectual contributions of students .The magazine was

formally unveiled by the dignitaries, marking an important milestone of the event.

 

The motto of our institution, ‘ Heal and Comfort’ is instilled in us through the institutional

anthem at every program . This was followed by an inspiring address from the Chief Guest ,

Dr Michelle Serene Fernandes, who shared valuable tips for the students council

members, to lead by example, remain committed to their duties and work collaboratively to

their duties for the betterment of the institution.

 

The program came to an end with a vote of thanks by Ms Haritha Sathyan, Cultural

Secretary of the student council followed by the National Anthem.
