Postgraduate Course Inauguration & Orientation Programme (2025–2026 Batch)

The Postgraduate Course Inauguration and Orientation Programme for the 2025–2026 batch was successfully conducted at Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore, on 10th March 2026 at the Decennial Memorial Hall.

The programme began with a prayer song invoking divine blessings, setting a solemn and meaningful tone for the occasion. The event marked the beginning of a significant academic journey for the newly admitted postgraduate students, welcoming them into an institution renowned for its commitment to compassionate healthcare and academic excellence.

The dignitaries were escorted to the dais by Dr. Antony Sylvan D’Souza, Dean, Father Muller Medical College. The dignitaries present on the dais included Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions; Rev. Dr. Michael Santhumayor, Administrator, Father Muller Medical College; Rev. Fr. George Jeevan Sequeira, Administrator, Father Muller Medical College Hospital; and Dr. Venkatesh B.M., Vice Dean, Father Muller Medical College.

Dr. Antony Sylvan D’Souza delivered the Welcome Address, formally welcoming the gathering and motivating the postgraduate students as they embarked on their academic journey.

The inauguration was marked by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing knowledge and the auspicious beginning of a new journey. The dignitaries were joined by Dr. Sneha M. Iyer, MD in General Medicine, who secured the highest NEET rank at Father Muller Medical College, for the lamp lighting ceremony.

The Presidential Address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo, who emphasized the values of dedication, discipline, and compassionate service in the medical profession, inspiring the students to uphold the legacy and mission of the institution.

The programme was efficiently compered by Ms. Shyni and Ms. Alvita, ensuring the smooth and seamless conduct of the event.

The inaugural session concluded with the Vote of Thanks, followed by the Institutional Anthem.

Following the inauguration, the Orientation Programme was conducted over three days, covering essential topics such as university regulations, hospital protocols, medico-legal aspects, patient communication, infection control, research methodology, and software training etc. The sessions were facilitated by eminent faculty members and resource persons from various departments.

The programme aimed to equip the newly admitted postgraduate students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and institutional values to begin their academic journey effectively.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, Heads of Departments, and postgraduate students, marking a meaningful and informative beginning to the academic year.
