Eco-bench Activity

The
Swachh Bharat Club and Institutional Values and Best Practices Committee of
Father Muller College of Nursing (FMCON) in association with CODP (Canara
Organization for development and Peace), Mangalore, completed its second
project of Eco-bench construction at the student corner of FMCI campus. The
bench was inaugurated by Rev. Sr Jacintha Dsouza, Principal and Dr Agnes EJ, Vice
Principal of FMCON on May 14, 2024. The activity began in the month of June,
2023 where the students and staff collected empty 2 litre plastic bottles from
different places and the dry plastics from the institutional campus. The first
eco bench was constructed at Gujjarakere Park, Morgans gate, Mangaluru and was
inaugurated on January 15, 2024. The current bench was constructed using 40
bottles. The students who contributed
exceptionally towards the completion of this project were awarded with mementos
as green warriors and those won in the competitions were awarded with prizes. The
program was planned and executed by the chairpersons of the committees, Ms
Priya Pereira and Ms Sandra Saldanha.
