On
May 22, 2024, the Department of Community Health Nursing, in collaboration with
the NSS unit of Father Muller College of Nursing, organized a comprehensive
health awareness program at Adyar Padavu, Mangalore. The primary objectives of
the event were to address the prevention and management of vector-borne
diseases through environmental sanitation practices, alongside showcasing the
importance of nutrition through a DASH diet exhibition. Additionally, a general
health check-up was offered to all participants.
A
diverse audience comprising 45 members from the local community, 48 students
from the IV BSc (N) program, 9 MSc (N) students, and 8 faculty members from the
Department of Community Health Nursing, Father Muller College of Nursing,
actively participated in the program.
The
feedback received from the community was overwhelmingly positive, indicating
that the program significantly contributed to their understanding of health and
nutrition-related issues. The inclusion of a general health check-up was
particularly appreciated, as it ensured a more comprehensive approach to
addressing the wellness needs of the participants.
Overall,
the event was deemed highly beneficial, enriching the attendees with valuable
insights and empowering them to make informed choices regarding their health
and well-being.
