General health checkup/blood donation and Cancer Screening Awareness camp Bantwal

DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSING (2024-2025)

A General Health Check-up, Blood Donation, and Cancer Screening Camp was successfully held on 12 January 2025 at Maninalkoor Grama Panchayath, Iliyuru, Bantwal. The event was organized by Father Muller Medical College Hospital in collaboration with Shri Mahavishnu Temple, Iliyuru, Bantwal, Shri Mahavishnu Youth Group (R), Rotary Club Bantwal, and the Indian Cancer Society. The camp provided a wide range of services, including General Medicine, General Surgery, OBG, Paediatrics, Orthopedics, Dermatology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Radiation Oncology, and Surgical Oncology. OPD services, along with laboratory and pharmacy support, were available to 185-beneficiaries.In addition, blood donation efforts were supported by participants Ms. Preethi, Mr. Dean, Ms. Jacqueline, and Ms. Soumya, who are nursing students. They also assisted with activities such as Pap smear screenings, the registration process, and dispensing free medicines to the attendees. Ms Priya S Pereira and Ms Raina Mascarenhas, faculty members from Father Muller College of Nursing, coordinated the camp's activities. The event was an excellent initiative to promote health and wellbeing in the local community.
