 Health Education and Nutrition Exhibition Program

The Department of Community Health Nursing, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), successfully conducted a Health Education and Nutrition Exhibition program at Anganwadi Centre Ganeshtota Arkula on April 2, 2025, at 10:45 am to educate the community on preventing accidents in children and to promote healthy nutrition practices among antenatal, postnatal, under-five, and infant populations. Third-year BSc Nursing students actively participated in the program by providing health education and setting up a nutrition exhibition. Dance performances and games entertained the participants. Attractive prizes were awarded to the winners. The program benefited 40 participants, including an Asha worker, an Anganwadi teacher and helper, Anganwadi children and Women from self-help groups. Dr. Asha, a Medical Officer from Adyar PHC, graciously attended the program.  The active participation of nursing students and the attendance of Dr. Asha added value to the program. The program was successfully coordinated by Mrs Deepika N C, Mrs Caroline Smitha, Dr Shycil Mathew Faculty of Department of Community Health Nursing and Mr Abin Kuriakose NSS Coordinator. Ms Riyanka and Ms Sharmila compared the programs.  The program successfully achieved its objectives, empowering the community with essential knowledge on accident prevention and nutrition.
