 School Health Program at Arkula

The Department of Community Health Nursing at Father Muller College of Nursing, in collaboration with NSS, organized a School Health Program on 08/04/2025 at 10:30 am at Nithya Sahaya Matha English and Kannada Medium High School Meramajal Arkula to educate high school students about adolescent health issues and its prevention and to promote healthy habits and behaviors among adolescents.

 

Third-year BSc Nursing students conducted the program, which included A mime performance on social media addiction, an explanation of the stages of adolescence, problems during this period, and their prevention and a discussion on adolescent health schemes. Audio-visual aids, such as PowerPoint presentations and charts, were used to engage students. Health education was delivered in Kannada to facilitate easy understanding. School children were entertained by conducting games, singing and dance. Winners were awarded prizes. The program came to an end at noon. Ms Melisha and Ms Wilona compered the program, Ms Danica welcomed the gathering, and Ms. Leisha proposed a vote of thanks.

 

There were 80 participants, including school teachers and high school students from both Kannada and English medium schools. Mrs Deepika N C, Assistant Professor and Mrs Caroline Smitha, Assistant Lecturer, coordinated the program. The program received enthusiastic appreciation from School teachers and children.
