Breaking the Web: Escaping Drugs and Digital Dangers

The Student Support and Progression Committee of FMCON organized a session on Cyber Crime and Drug Addiction on 21st May 2025 at Rajath Bhavan. The session began at 9:45 AM with a prayer song, followed by a welcome address by Ms. Suneetha Merlin Fernandes, a member of SSPC. The first session on Empowering Youth-Navigating Cyber Safety was conducted by Ms. Sarik Ankitha, Head of the Department of Criminology at School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya who emphasized the various types of cyber-crimes prevalent in society and their associated dangers. The session on Substance Abuse taken by Mrs Lydia Lobo, Administrator, Link Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for addicts, Bejai focused on the physical, psychological, and social impact of drug abuse among youth. Students from I PB BSc, I BSc, II BSc, and I GNM actively participated in the sessions and expressed that the program was highly beneficial to them. The event concluded at 12.45 pm with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Godfrey Selma Lewis, member, SSPC, who acknowledged everyone involved in the program.
