The inaugural function began at 9:00 AM, anchored by Ms. Swedhal, a third-year B.Sc. Nursing student, who served as the Master of Ceremony. The event opened with a solemn Invocation, followed by a Welcome Address by Mr. Chris Dsouza, President of the Student Research Club.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Ramesh Bhat, Head of FMRC, addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of structured research training for the future of evidence-based nursing practice. The Guest of Honour, Dr. Shivashankara A R, Principal, FMAHS – Thumbay, shared his insights on integrating research with academic curricula and appreciated the initiative.
The programme was presided over by Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director, FMCI, who delivered the Presidential Address, encouraging students to cultivate a scientific temperament and a research-oriented mindset.
The session witnessed the gracious presence of Rev. Sr. Dhanya Devasia, Principal of Father Muller College of Nursing and Father Muller School of Nursing, along with 60 faculty members and 120 students, who enthusiastically participated in the inaugural session.
Dr. Shycil Mathew, Chairperson of the Student Research Club, along with the Co-Chairpersons of the workshop, also joined the inauguration, marking their commitment and leadership in strengthening student-led research culture.
The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Ms. Manisha G Pinto, Secretary of the Student Research Club, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to all dignitaries, guests, organizers, faculty, and student participants.
This three-day workshop marked a significant step toward enhancing research culture at Father Muller College of Nursing, with focused small-group sessions designed to provide intensive, hands-on learning in research methodology.
