Breast Feeding Week 2025

On August 1, 2025, in observance of World Breastfeeding Week, the Departments of Obstetrics &Gynaecology, Paediatrics, and Community Health Nursing from FMCON, along with the Departments of Obstetrics &Gynaecology and Paediatrics from FMMC, jointly organized an educational session titled "Lactation Module". This initiative brought together 297 B.Sc. Nursing and GNM students from five different nursing colleges across Mangalore. The inaugural session was presided over by Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director, FMCI and Dr. Shakuntala M Mugadur, Lady Medical Officer, Department of Community Medicine, FMMC, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The sessions mainly focused to empower future nurses to effectively support and guide mothers in lactation practices.As part of the event, first-year P.B.B.Sc Nursing students of FMCON hosted a Nutrition Expo.
