School Health Programme at St. Gerosa High School, Mangaluru

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing, Father Muller College of Nursing, organized a School Health Programme on 6th November 2025 at 12:30 p.m. The session was conducted at St. Gerosa High School, Mangaluru, under the theme “From Bud to Bloom: Understanding Puberty and Periods. ”The programme began with an introductory role play presented by the third-year GNM students, highlighting the physical and emotional changes during puberty. The resource persons, Ms. Merlin Fernandes and Ms. Deepthi Dsouza, delivered an interactive and informative session on puberty and menstrual hygiene, helping students understand the topic with clarity and confidence. The Headmistress and teachers of the school graced the occasion with their presence and appreciated the efforts of the department. A total of 370 students from classes VIII to X benefited from the programme. The session proved to be highly educational and engaging, fostering awareness and promoting healthy attitudes toward puberty and menstrual hygiene among adolescents.
