Health Awareness Program

The department of Community Health Nursing along with VII sem BSc nursing students in collaboration with NSS unit , FMCON and NSS unit, Milagres College, Mangaluru organised a health awareness program on occasion of World Health Day and also a awareness program on drug abuse as a part of Nasha Mukth Abhiyan at Milagres College, Mangalore on 10th April 2026 at 10am.
The formal program was started with dignitaries on the dais and Dr Sonia Sequera, Head of the Community Health department delivered the keynote address on the WHO theme “Together for Health. Stand with Science" explaining that promotion of health is in our hands and that should be evidence based. Rev Fr Dr Alwyn Serrao too addressed the gathering.
After the formal program the students presented the WHO theme through a mime. The role play was performed by the students on "Say no to drugs". The education program was fruitful with total 61 students of I and II year Degree students as beneficiaries.
Ms Priya, subject coordinator, Dr Shycil Mathew and Ms Apoorva, faculty were present for the program.
