Building Reliable Evidence: The Power of Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis : two-day workshop

A two-day workshop on “Building Reliable Evidence: The Power of Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis” was held on 24th and 25th April 2026 by  NAAC Criteria III, the Nursing Research Department, FMCON, and the Knowledge Centre, FMCI. A total of 40 faculty members participated in the workshop. The pre-inaugural session was conducted by Dr. Judith A Noronha, Dean of Manipal College of Nursing, who provided an overview of systematic reviews.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by the Director, Rev Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, the Principal FMCON Sr Dr Dhanya Devasia, Dr Janet Dotty Lobo, Dr Judith A Noronha, an alumna, who was the Chief Guest, The organising chairpersons Dr Janet Dotty lobo Chief Librarian FMCI, Dr Devina E Rodrigues, Prof Precilla Dsilva, FMCON.

 Sessions were conducted by Dr. Baby Nayak, HOD, Child Health Nursing, and Dr. Judith A Noronha on Day one. Day 2 sessions were led by Prof. Precilla L. Dsilva, HOD, OBG Nursing, FMCON, Dr Judith Noronha and Dr baby Nayak of Manipal College of Nursing. Topics included systematic review search, risk of bias, PROSPERO registration, meta-analysis, and data extraction tool Rayyan, systematic review report writing.

Pre- and post-tests and feedback were collected through online platforms. The workshop was a fruitful hands-on training that enhanced faculty competence in systematic reviews. A total of 40 teachers attended the workshop, expressed their satisfaction, and committed to contributing their future research in the area of systematic review and meta-analysis.
