Father Muller Research Centre (FMRC) conducted a
workshop, "Hands on your thesis" for junior faculty of FMMC (Senior residents
and Assistant Professors) and the staff of FMRC, on 18th and 19th
October 2021. This workshop aimed at
hands on training on how to publish the thesis work as paper, and also to
orient the staff with various aspects of research methodology. Resource persons
were Dr Ramesh, Professor of ENT from St John's National Academy of Health
Sciences, Bengaluru and Dr Margaret Laveena Fernandes, Faculty of St John's
Research Centre.
The resource persons made the participants to
understand need for the study, research question, objectives, methodology and
presentation of results. The participants were sensitized on importance of
defining the need for the study, research question and objectives very clearly
and in a simple way and to clearly depict the methodology without any
ambiguity. The Research Genie App of St John's National Academy, developed
under the stewardship of Dr Ramesh was introduced to the participants. At the
end of the workshop, the participants were able to get clear picture of writing
an impressive and acceptable research paper. This workshop was for 1 ½ days, with
38 participants.
On 19th October 2021 from 2 to 4 PM, Dr
Ramesh addressed a gathering of teaching faculty of FMMC and College of Speech
and Hearing to orient them with the research methodology, and innovation in
research. Around 120 faculty took the benefit of this talk.
The entire two days session was organized under the
support and initiative of Fr Ajith Menezes, Administrator of FMMC, Dr
Jayaprakash Alva, Dean and was guided by
Dr B Sanjeev Rai, Chief of Research. The program was coordinated by Dr Shivashankara
AR and his team of FMRC staff.
