THE SERIES OF DEVELOPING MULTIDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH GRANT PROPOSALS BEGINS

“Translating ideas to Impact : Developing Multidisciplinary Grant Proposals” --the series of sessions  organized by FMRC made it’s beginning on 29th August 2025. This first session was on “AI and it’s  applications”. Resource person for the session was Dr Ruban S, Dean, School of Engineering, St  Aloysius Deemed to be University, Mangalore. 

Dr Shivashankara AR, Professor of Biochemistry and Convener of the series mentioned the objectives  of the series : to promote research grant proposals, multidisciplinary research and team building for  research. Dr Ramesh Bhat , Head of FMRC requested the participants to make the best use of these  sessions , develop research grant proposals and apply for internal and external grants. Dr Ruban S  elaborated on basic of AI and applications of AI in research. He facilitated the ideas of participants to  develop as research proposals. Participants made their teams to undertake future research involving  use of AI.  

A total of 52 faculty from all institutions of FMCI attended the session, and 15 research proposals were  developed. Further follow up discussions will be held between the faculty of FMCI and St Aloysius  Deemed to be University to finalize them and apply for grants. The participants were happy with the  interactive session and hands on experience of developing problem statements.
