INTERNATIONAL PATIENT SAFETY DAY CELEBRATION

The Inauguration
of Patient Safety Day was celebrated at Father Muller Hospital Thumbay on 12.09.2022 at 3.00pm. By inaugurating the celebrations for a week
which included different competitions to increase the awareness of medication
safety among the patient and the hospital staff including the nursing
students. The programme began with a
prayer song, followed by the speech by the dignitaries. A small training session was conducted by Dr
Chandralekha N, and she spoke about the use of safe techniques for medications. She
touched upon medication errors with live examples, consequences of the
errors, preventive methodologies, and need of reporting the incidents relating
to medications. She ended saying reporting errors will not always have penalty,
but will make us more diligent. The programme
was concluded by the Vote of thanks and the Institutional Anthem.
The competitions were conducted in which the students, staff are enthusiastically participated for which they were awarded with prizes and certificate of participation.
