REPORT ON VISIT TO PALLIATIVE CARE CENTRE

 Father Muller Nursing College Thumbay arranged a visit to Ave Maria Palliative Care Centre, Vamanjoor to the II Year B.Sc. Nursing (IV Semester) 40 students on 24-08-2024 as a part of their curriculum requirement, the Palliative Care Module. We reached to the centre at 10 am. Mrs.Diana Flavia Monthero welcomed and oriented the students on various aspects of Palliative Care including infrastructure, funding, staffing, and functioning of the unit. In addition, students were taken at the bedside of each patient where they could interact with their family as well exchanging their smiles, singing songs and hymns for them.

       Moved by the spirit of God, 2 of the students Ms. Shania Jenica Pinto and Ms.Viva Jasmine Lobo donated their love offering. At the end, the Director of the Centre Dr.Lavina Noronha conveyed her message to look after the patients like your own family member and not by their Diagnosis.

       The Centre visit was coordinated by Mrs.Jacintha Valder and Mrs.Sushma Rodrigues the faculty of the college.
