Aug 5, 2025

In observance of World Breastfeeding Week, a health education session was organized on 5th August 2025 at 11:00 AM at Pudu Panchayat, Farangipete. The session aimed to raise awareness on the importance of breastfeeding among mothers and the local community.

The primary objectives were to emphasize the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, highlight its long-term benefits, and demonstrate proper breastfeeding techniques.

Approximately 20–25 participants, including antenatal and postnatal mothers, ASHA workers, and local women, actively took part in the program.

Key topics covered included the benefits of breastfeeding for mother and baby, techniques for proper positioning and attachment (cradle, football, side-lying holds), breast care and common breastfeeding issues, nutritional requirements for lactating mothers, the role of family and community support, and addressing myths and misconceptions.

Educational methods involved role plays, interactive talks, visual aids (charts and flashcards), and live demonstrations using dolls. A Q&A session addressed participants' queries, fostering engagement and learning.

The session concluded with positive feedback from attendees and a strong demand for similar initiatives in the future. The program successfully promoted awareness and good breastfeeding practices in the community.
