INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotism at Father Muller Hospital, Thumbay, on Friday, 15th August 2025, at 8:15 a.m. The event was jointly organized in association with Father Muller Nursing College Thumbay (FMNCT) and Father Muller Allied Health Sciences College, Thumbay (FMAHSCT). The dignitaries present for the celebration included Rev. Fr Sylvester Vincent Lobo, Administrator of FMHT, Dr Reena Wilma Frank, Principal of FMNCT and Chief Guest of the event, Dr Shivashankara A. R., Principal of FMAHSCT, and Rev. Fr. Vinod Lobo, Chaplain of FMHT.

The program commenced with a melodious prayer song rendered by the students of FMAHSCT, invoking the blessings of the Almighty. This was followed by the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Guest, Dr Reena Wilma Frank. In her address, Dr Frank highlighted the significance of Independence Day, paying tribute to the sacrifices of freedom fighters and acknowledging the dedication of healthcare professionals in nation-building.

A vibrant patriotic band performance by the B.Sc. Nursing students of FMNCT added color and spirit to the celebration. The program concluded with the distribution of sweets to all the attendees, symbolizing joy and unity. The event was gracefully compered by Ms Pavithra B. Masanagi, Assistant Lecturer, FMNCT.
