RADIO PROGRAMME ON BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

Sep 29, 2025

The Department of Adult Health Nursing, in collaboration with NSS, recorded a radio programme on Breast Cancer Awareness on 29th September for Akashvani, Mangalore. The talk, scheduled to be aired in October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, aimed to raise awareness about early detection, risk factors, and the importance of timely medical care.

The programme was brought to life by 4th semester B.Sc. Nursing students – Ms. Ozita Fernandes, Ms. Preeti Dsouza, Ms. Jasmine Moras, Ms. Prathima, and Ms. Fiona Galbao – who creatively explained the topic through an engaging scenario. Their effort helped present important health information in a simple and relatable manner.

The initiative was well coordinated by Dr. Edveena Monis and Mrs. Sushma Rodrigues, whose guidance contributed to the success of the programme. This radiotalk not only enhanced student learning but also played a vital role in reaching the wider community with the powerful reminder that early detection saves lives.
