THE ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET 2025–26

Father Muller Nursing College Thumbay, in collaboration with the Father Muller College of Speech and Hearing, organized the Annual Athletic Meet 2025–26 on 22^nd  November 2025 at the FMCI Grounds.

The programme commenced with the inaugural ceremony at 9:00 a.m. The dignitaries gracing the dais included Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director, FMCI; Rev. Fr. Sylvester Vincent Lobo, Administrator; Rev. Dr. Michael Santhumayor, Father Muller Medical College; Rev. Fr. Nelson Dheeraj Pais, Administrator, Father Muller Homoeopathic Pharmaceutical Division; Rev. Fr. Donald Nilesh Crasta, Administrator, Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College; Rev. Fr. William D’Souza, Assistant Administrator, Father Muller Medical College Hospital; Dr. Reena Wilma Frank, Father Muller Nursing College, Thumbay; and Dr. Cynthia Santhumayor, Principal, Father Muller College of Speech and Hearing. Mr. Chandrashekhara S. N., Mr. Chennakeshava, and Mrs. Sushma, Physical Education Instructors, were also present.

The event opened with an impressive college band performance followed by a disciplined march past by the student contingents. Dr. Edveena Philip Monis extended a warm welcome address, after which the flag hoisting was performed. The meet was officially declared open with the release of balloons, symbolising the spirit of sportsmanship. The champions’ torch was ceremoniously carried by the athletes and handed over to the Director. In his inspiring address, the Director emphasized integrating sports into daily life, highlighting the values of discipline, determination, and teamwork.

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Ms. Melicia Shainy D’Souza. Following the inauguration, various track and field events were conducted. The participants showcased remarkable talent, enthusiasm, and competitive spirit. The valedictory session began at 4:15 p.m., with Dr. Reena Wilma Frank addressing the gathering as the chief guest and presenting shields to the overall and individual champions. Following a vote of thanks by Ms. Lavita D’Souza, the event concluded with the flag lowering and the National Anthem, symbolizing unity and the spirit of healthy competition. The entire programme was smoothly compared by Ms. Ozita.Overall, the Annual Athletic Meet 2025–26 was a grand success, fostering sportsmanship, unity, and healthy competition among students.
