PARENT-TEACHER ASSOCIATION (PTA) MEETING REPORT

The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting for the 2nd Semester (2024–2028 batch) B.Sc. Nursing students was held on 8th November 2025 at 10:30 AM in the Florence Nightingale Hall. The program commenced with a prayer song rendered by the 2nd Semester students, setting a reverent tone for the event.

The gathering was honoured by the presence of distinguished dignitaries, Fr Sylvester Vincent Lobo, Administrator, Dr Reena Wilma Frank, Principal, FMNCT, Dr Mona Mendonca, Guest Speaker, Assistant Professor & Head of the Department of History, St Aloysius Deemed to be University, Mr Shibu A O, Parent Representative And the Class coordinator Dr. Edveena Philip Monis HOD, Dept of CHN.

Dr. Monis, extended a warm welcome to all the attendees and introduced the Guest Speaker, Dr Mona Mendonca. A traditional lamp-lighting ceremony was held to formally inaugurated the event, with all dignitaries participating in this symbolic gesture of enlightenment.

Dr Mendonca explored the horizons of parenting and the role of students.  She also shared meaningful reflections and personal experiences, emphasizing the importance of empathetic parenting and understanding the evolving perspectives of Generation Z and the impact of mobile/ phone usage.

Principal, addressed the gathering regarding significance of following institutional policies, particularly those concerning attendance and leave. In addition, she also informed the parents that remedial classes will be arranged for the students for those who had failed in the university examination.

Administrator, expressed his appreciation for the active participation and cooperation of both parents and students. Parent representative spoke on behalf of parents and put forth issues related to improving of food quality.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mrs Jacintha Valder   Asst professor dept of AHN and co-ordinator of 2nd semester B.Sc. nursing, acknowledged the efforts of everyone who contributed to the success of the meeting. Programme was concluded with institutional anthem followed by lunch. A total of 49 parents/guardians were present, making the PTA meeting a fruitful and engaging platform for collaboration and dialogue.
