ANTI-RAGGING AWARENESS PROGRAMME-SAY NO TO RAGGING

An Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme was conducted at Father Muller nursing College thumbay on 21st November 2025 in lecture hall 1, FMNCT at 11.00 am to educate First semester BSc. Nursing students (2025-2029 batch) about the harmful effects of ragging and the strict legal actions against it.

The event aimed to create a safe and inclusive environment for students.The programme began with a prayer, invoking blessings for a meaningful and impactful session. This was followed by a welcome address by Mrs Joyce Fernandes Assistant Professor, who emphasized the importance of maintaining a respectful and harassment-free campus. The resource person for the session, Mrs. Jyothi Crystal Pinto, HR Manager, FMCI, was introduced and welcomed. In honour of the occasion, a floral welcome was graciously offered by Dr. Reena Wilma Frank, Principal, FMNCT

An informative awareness session was then conducted by the resource person Mrs Jyothi Crystal Pinto HR manager who highlighted the psychological and legal consequences of ragging. The speaker elaborated on laws such as the UGC Anti-Ragging Regulations, 2009, and the severe punishments for those found guilty of ragging.

A short film showcasing real-life incidents and the trauma caused by ragging was presented, leaving a deep impact on the audience. Interactive discussions and role-play sessions were also conducted to help students understand the importance of standing against ragging and supporting victims.
