Father Muller Hospital Thumbay, Father Muller Nursing College Thumbay, and Father Muller Allied Health Sciences College Thumbay (Units of Father Muller Charitable Institutions) jointly celebrated the 77th Republic Day on Monday, 26 January 2026 at 8:30 a.m. at the main entrance of Father Muller Hospital, Thumbay.
The programme was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. Pauline Anand, Principal, Father Muller Allied Health Sciences College Thumbay. Also present on the occasion were Rev. Fr. Sylvester Vincent Lobo, Administrator, Dr. Reena Wilma Frank, Principal, Father Muller Nursing College Thumbay, along with doctors, staff, faculty members, students of FMNCT and FMAHSCT, and patients’ relatives who gathered in large numbers for the celebration.
The ceremony commenced with a prayer song led by the students of Father Muller Allied Health Sciences College Thumbay, invoking a sense of patriotism and gratitude. Dr. Reena Wilma Frank warmly welcomed the Chief Guest and the dignitaries.
The National Flag was unfurled by Dr. Pauline Anand, followed by her inspiring Republic Day message. In her address, she highlighted that the year also marks the 150th anniversary of “Vande Mataram”, the national song that inspired countless freedom fighters. She paid tribute to the Indian Constitution, emphasizing its core values of duty, equality, and service, which form the foundation of the nation. She further drew a meaningful connection between Republic Day and the medical profession, reminding everyone that healthcare professionals uphold the values of life, compassion, and humanity every day, irrespective of caste, creed, or social status.
The programme concluded with a patriotic song rendered by the Allied Health Sciences students. The event was efficiently compered by Mr. Hemanth K, Lecturer, FMAHSCT. Sweets were distributed to all present as part of the celebration. The Nursing College Band escorted the dignitaries and added grandeur to the occasion with their performance.
