INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2026

Father Muller Nursing College Thumbay organized a vibrant International Women’s Day programme on March 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM, themed "Pause, Power, Progress."  The event commenced with a soulful prayer song by Azalia and team, followed by a warm welcome from the host, Ms. Bilna, who set an inspiring tone with a quote by Michelle Obama. The occasion was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including the Principal, Dr. Reena Wilma Frank, alongside the dedicated faculty members, staff, and the vibrant student community. A significant highlight was the session led by the Resource Person, Dr. Joylene D’Almeida, Professor at FMMC, who was formally introduced to the gathering by Dr. Edveena Philip Monis.

Dr. Joylene delivered a comprehensive and motivating talk focused on critical aspects of women’s health, including menopause, and the importance of early detection and awareness regarding breast cancer and cervical cancer. Her insights blended medical expertise with a strong message of empowerment, encouraging students and faculty alike to prioritize their well-being as a foundation for personal and professional growth.

To complement the formal proceedings, students showcased their immense talent through a thought-provoking skit by Eveline and team, which highlighted societal challenges, and a vibrant dance performance by Annmaria and team that celebrated the grace of the female spirit. The program also honored the legacy of achievers like Hima Das, reminding all attendees of the extraordinary success possible through determination. The celebration concluded with the presentation of a memento to the Resource Person and the rendition of the Institutional Anthem, leaving the entire college community with a renewed commitment to supporting and empowering women every day
