World Health Day

The Department of Adult Health Nursing, III Semester B.Sc. Nursing students, observed World Health Day on 07.04.2026. The theme “Together for Health: Stand with Science” was unveiled by the Rev Fr Sylvester Vincent Lobo, Administrator and Dr Reena Wilma Frank, Principal in the presence of faculty and I and III Semester students.

The programme was conducted at Father Muller Hospital Thumbay at 2:00 PM in Ave Maria Ward. A total of 40 students actively participated in organizing and carrying out the programme.The programme began with a prayer, creating a positive and respectful atmosphere. This was followed by a role play on “Myths vs Facts,” which highlighted common misconceptions and provided accurate information related to health. The students also performed an awareness song that effectively conveyed key health messages and encouraged healthy lifestyle practices.

The programme was attended by 25 participants, including patients relatives and housekeeping staff, who actively listened and appreciated the efforts of the students. The event was coordinated by Dr. Padmakumar, HOD, Mrs. Sushma Rodrigues and other faculty members.

The observance of World Health Day served as a valuable learning experience for the students and helped create meaningful awareness among the community. The activities emphasized the importance of health promotion, disease prevention, and collective responsibility in maintaining overall well-being.
