Report on No Tobacco Day and Anti-Drug Awareness Programme

The National Service Scheme (NSS) and Anti-Drug Awareness Committee of Father Muller Nursing College Thumbay organized a “No Tobacco Day and Anti-Drug Awareness Programme” on 19th May 2026 at Florence Nightingale Hall, FMNCT, to create awareness on the harmful effects of tobacco use and substance abuse among students.

The programme was graced by Rev. Fr. Rohan Michael Dias, Administrator, FMNCT; Dr. Reena Wilma Frank, Principal, FMNCT; Dr. Paulina Anand, Principal, Father Muller Allied Health Sciences College Thumbay; and Dr. Edveena Philip Monis, NSS Officer.

Mr. Manjunath T, Police Sub Inspector, Bantwal Town Police Station, served as the resource person and delivered an informative talk on the social and legal consequences of tobacco use and drug abuse, with emphasis on prevention among youth.

The programme included prayer, welcome address, poster unveiling, oath-taking ceremony, and vote of thanks. The event concluded with the National Anthem. The programme successfully sensitized students towards adopting a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.
