FMHMC INAUGURATES THE STUDENTS' COUNCIL OF 2024-25

Student leadership plays a pivotal role and serves as the cornerstone for fostering a vibrant student community spirit advocating for positive change.

 

The Inaugural ceremony of the Students' Council 2024-25 was held on 21st May 2024  in Father Muller Auditorium, Deralakatte.

 

The programme commenced by the procession of the former and the newly elected office bearers of Students' Council and Student representatives. The blessings of the Almighty were implored through melodies and meaningful prayer song by Ms Anya and team.

 

Dr Deepa Pais, Staff Advisor, Students' Council welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest Dr Antony Sylvan D'Souza, Dean, Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore.

 

Principal Dr E S J Prabhu Kiran welcomed the new office bearers. Former President of the Students' Council, Mr Deron Maben handed over the college flag to the newly elected President, Mr Akhil Monteiro.  This was followed by the transfer of responsibilities from the former office bearers to the new office bearers: Ms Chetana P L, General Secretary, Ms S Hari Priya, Magazine Secretary, Mr Kiran Kumar, Sports Secretary, Mr Namith S Thontadadya, Cultural Secretary, Ms Srikanya K H, Research Secretary. Principal administered the oath of office bearers and congratulated the team and wished them success in their future endeavours.

 

The Students' Council was formally inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries and newly elected President & General Secretary. The Chief Guest felicitated the former office bearers and members of Students' council with a memento as a token of appreciation. Mr Akhil Monteiro, President, Student Council delivered the acceptance speech quoting "A leader is different, leadership brings about a difference"

 

Rev Fr Roshan Crasta, Administrator, FMHMCH & HPD in his message congratulated the newly elected members, thanked the former Students' Council on behalf of the management and recognised the services rendered, leadership executed and initiatives taken. He urged the students' council to be convinced about the vision and mission of the college and strive to bring about a positive and constructive change with creative and realistic ideas.

 

Chief Guest, Dr Antony Sylvan D'Souza in his inaugural address emphasized that the students' council has the great responsibility and fostering commitment and dedication in representing the student community. The council has to function as a wholesome unit in performing duties without discrimination of caste, creed and religion engaging students in the community sector with regards to education and health. 

 

Chief Guest was presented with a memento as a token of gratitude by Rev Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director, FMCI.

 

Rev Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, in his presidential address congratulated the newly elected and former Students Council office bearers and members. He stressed upon the importance of character along with skills to be a great leader. He mentioned that leadership is all about service, considering everyone as equal and strive to be committed to serve the student community and management with dedication.

 

Ms Chetana P L, General Secretary, Students' Council proposed the vote of thanks.

The programme concluded with the Institution Anthem.
