The IT department caters to the needs of the departments in the area of information. The department is setup with 4 servers and an IBM blade center and more than 500 desktops in various departments of the institution. The department is totally responsible for the smooth running of the Information Technology setup in the Campus.

During this period, many computers and printers for different departments have been added and software implementation also has been done. As per the NAAC requirement, MIS package has been installed in the Medical College Office computers for the easier administration and to step towards paperless office.
Hospital Information System is also extended to General Stores, Blood Banks etc in the campus to make the entire hospital paperless with faster and easy access. Wireless connectivity has been extended to most of the areas inside campus. New hostel Ave Maria C block is also setup with wireless internet facility. All the wards are setup with computers and barcode printers for this purpose.

A new system of authentication of internet users have been started to safeguard our network from the unauthorized access. Internet will not be accessed without proper username and password. Regular IT Classes for MSc Nursing, PBBSc, GNM, B.Sc(N) and MLT students are taken by the IT department staff.

All the necessities of IT related issues, taking the regular backup, maintenance, network management, firewall management, antivirus deployment and management, authentication of network users, training of the personnel with regard to the handling of the computers/printers/ projectors etc, are done by the staff of the IT department.
