JCI PRIME training programme

The Hospital Infection Control Department of Father Muller Medical College Hospital (FMMCH) jointly with Becton Dickinson organized the "JCI PRIME" (Joint Commission International-Preventing Risk Of Infections And Medication Errors In IV Therapy) training programme. The official All India launch of this training was done in the month of February 14th 2023 at FMMCH. According to the protocol, participants from the administration, clinical, nursing and non clinical departments were selected. A total of 56 participants were enrolled of which 13were designated as JCI PRIME leads and 43 as JCI PRIME champions. The training sessions were conducted  on 13th and 14th  of June 2023. The resource faculty for the sessions were Dr Chandan Saxena, Deputy Manager, Medical Affairs, Karnataka and  Dr  Shivansh Pahuja ,Deputy Manager, Medical Affairs, UNR  Rajasthan. They imparted an in depth training on various aspects of Preventing The Risk Of Infections And Medication Errors  and they gave an clear insight  into the audit process that will span 6 months. The road map for this JCI certification programme for our hospital during this period will also include teleconferences with JCI consultants, presentation of audit findings and educational webinars. The ultimate goal of this training is to enhance patient safety by best practices in medication preparation and administration and prevent risk of infections in intravenous therapy.
