CNE ON CARE OF PATIENTS ON ICD

 A Continuing Nursing Education programme on “Care of patients on ICD” was organised by the Continuing Nursing Education Cell of the Nursing Service Department on 9th January 2025 at 3pm in the Hospital conference hall. Ms Renita Lasrado, ANS/CNE Co-Ordinator, introduced the guest speaker of the session Dr Shrishankar, Assistant Professor, Respiratory Medicine, Father Muller Medical College.  During the session, he explained and shared the role of nurses when patients are on Intercostal drainage. He explained the nurse’s responsibility in monitoring of drainage bottle and suction level, recording the quantity and content of drainage and placement of ICD bottle and ensured that nurses follow the procedure strictly to avoid complications and promote early recovery along with better patient care and outcome. Nursing Superintendents, CNE co-ordinators, Assistant Nursing superintendents and ward nurses were deputed for the session.

 

After the session, Ms Asha Fernandes, Assistant Nursing superintendent presented the certificate to Dr Shrishankar as a token of appreciation. Ms Shilpa, ANS/CNE Co-Ordinator delivered the vote of thanks. Around 80 nurses participated in the session.
